Microsoft has a vid up about windows 8. What do you guys think?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p92QfWOw88I I think they are focusing on touch too much. Dont get me wrong its great it will be for all systems mobile and desktop but i hope that in the end they go back to optimizing it for desktop. Also notice at 0:45 how they blur the stuff on the right. interesting. Edited by maxyme - 02 Jun 2011 at 6:24pm |

Yeaaah...touch integration is starting to scare me a bit, hehe.
I'm loving the WP7 tile layout though, it's worked really well on my Windows Phone so far. Speaking of that, I can't wait for teh Mango update...visual search baby! |

if you ask me it seems a bit too much like mac. its like running ios on a pc i mean why would you do it? it looks way too simple for me. i like pcs because they are complex. i most likely won't buy windows 8 if the only upgrade is the touch screen sh*t because i would just end up using win 7 mode anyway..
also will be hell for developers to support both windows 8 apps and windows 7. and for the ones that choose only windows 8 support it will suck. Edited by maxyme - 03 Jun 2011 at 12:19am |

That video said they were going to be doing these Windows 8 video things for the next year, so I would assume it's not coming out any earlier than 2013. |

Considering that they've used WP7's tile layout, I'm not surprised it's turning out sort of like iOS. After looking at WP7, it's clear that Microsoft designed the UI to directly rival the iPhone in intuitive usability. Whether that'll work well for Windows 8, I don't know though, for tablet's it'd work wonderfully but for PCs I personally think it'd a step too far.
