Few weeks ago I started having this thing when I put computer to hibernate, it SOMETIMES gives me this error about firmware not saving my restore data. There is no error code or anything like that. There are two option to continue with the loader or delete restoration data.
I didn't give it much attention because everything worked fine after that error. But today I was digging on the internet and from what I gathered it is most likely my RAM is failing or another possibility that my hard drive is. I will run memtest but it says it only supports 4gb of ram. I have 6gb. Will Windows Memory Diagnostic work?
Also, what do I use to see if my hard drive is failing (god I hope it isn't) ?

You can try that. Or:

To test the hardware & overclock just to make sure, use a program such as Prime95 (http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=205) on that link scroll down and click 'Primary Download Site.' Run the program and select a 'Blend' stress-test. Let it run overnight and see if your computer has a Blue-Screen, or if it finds rounding errors the next morning.

If it fails with either a system hang, blue-screen, or rounding error [check all the small thread windows it runs for rounding errors] then you will need to see if it is either your overclock (try loading defaults), loose memory from shipping that needs to be re-seated. Once you try that then re-run the tests to see if the problem goes away.

If it's still running properly with no errors, then the Overclock, memory, etc should be fine and it may have been data corruption with Windows and you may want to do a fresh install or use 'System Restore' to a a point before this was happening.

yea i would definitely not worry about hardware over a sleep issue, they are very common, just test it like he said and if it still doesnt work then try and tweak the sleep around until it works

Hibernation is notoriously wonky. I've never been able to get it to work without errors consistently on any of my systems (all of which are very different builds running different versions of windows). I've had much more success with sleep mode.

Yick! You make it sound like I was an odd one out for using Hibernation for all those months without issue. Did you have any EVGA boards?

No Asus, MSI, and a cheap Acer laptop. I've also seen hibernation issues crop up on some Dell and HP desktops (friend/family systems). Now, mind you the problems are fairly intermittent, but all have experienced at least a few episodes of hibernation sickness at one time or another
