Topic: Windows tweaks. Posted: 10 Jul 2020 at 10:42pm |
Hello All,
Anyone have a list of services that can be switched off to maximize performance. In order to keep the cost low, I didn't opt for the OS optimization. I'm hoping someone has a list of what digtal storm tweaks and what services are disabled. I've been a MAC user for 13 years and there's not much in the way of tweaks to eek out more performance. Sorry, I'm still brand new to these forums. Hell, it's been 13 years since I bought a new PC and I'm totally stoked. It shipped out today... Yay!!! Thanks for any and all info anyone can provide. Regards, Eric |

Congratulations and welcome to DS. The OS is pretty bloat free. Best advise is to explore the various functions and determine if you are going to use them. What did you order? Enjoy.

If you have 16GB of RAM or more, you won't have any issues at all.

Thank you for the reply. I ordered the Lynx Lvl2. Mostly I'll be usimg the system for photo/video editing, and some gaming for titles not on any of the consoles. Last time I used Windows I believe it was XP, there were a lot of services that I was able to disable, mostly the services that were security risks, but some were resource hogs. Thanks again, Eric |

The system is coming with 16gb of RAM. I'm definitely upping it to the max of 32gb. As mentioned in my reply to the other post, it'll mostly be for photo/video editing and some light gaming. Thank you for the reply!!! :) Eric |

I'm not sure how you got 16 GB of RAM with a Lynx 2, but good move! You can def use a lot of RAM for editing, but with 32 GB, Windows won't be a factor.
