I'm planning on buying a new DS computer this week. Most of the time when I'm playing a game, I'm sitting at my desk and playing on my 24" monitor. However, I have a 62" 1080p LCD TV. So it seems like I should be able to use that 62" TV as the display for my computer right? My computer will have SLI 512 MB 8800 GTSs. Do those video cards have an output that would typically plug into an LCD TV (HDMI?)?
If I wanted to be able to switch between the TV and the monitor at my desk, is there some kind of capability or switch I can use to flip that without having to reconnect the cords all the time? Getting behind my big TV can require some athleticism.
Also, are there are any good wireless keyboards and mice that would have a pretty good range (i.e. about 15 feet)? Would it be responsive? I play a lot of games like Call of Duty 4, but I do occasionally play slower strategy games like Sins of the Solar Empire and Civ 3. Is there anybody out there that uses these wireless peripherals while playing those FPS games? Do they work okay?
Sorry for all the questions - I've always been a pretty basic computer user and not very adventurous in its use.

Just purchase a DVI to HDMI cable at your local electronics store, your LCDTV should have at least one HDMI input. You can connect your computers display output to that HDMI input and leave it connected all the time. Your TV will have selectable inputs to switch between the computer/tv/dvd/vcr etc.
I've used wireless keyboards and mice before, but not from 15 feet. You'll probably want to go with one that uses Radio Frequency and not Infra Red. RF is rated upto 100 feet, and IR is rated around 30 feet, so both will work for your intentions, but IR requires line of sight (to transmitter) and RF doesn't. |
