Im trying to create a somewhat price conscious workstation (who said games weren't conducive to healthy workflow though? ;) and Im wondering what you guys think. Im going to be doing a lot of 3D Animation, using mostly Blender which is OpenGL intensive. I dont have the dough to drop on Quadro or FireGL, so Im particularly wondering what mid range card is best for this type of thing. Also, would like to know what I should do with the rest, hahaha. Anyway, this is what I have so far:

You put together a pretty good funstation, but Vista Home Premium (32bit) will not support all 4GBs of memory. You need the 64bit OS.

You can drop down to a 750W or 620W PSU.

You can software mod the 8800GTX into a Quadro just by doing a little research =p
The only thing that keeps me wishing on a wishing star.

Also with that case, the same one I have, it will run a little hot with that video card and process overclocked.  To add an additional fan you would have to remove one of the optical drives so they can use the three empty 5.25 bays to put the fan in and mesh screens.  They have done this for several customers recently.
850W PSU/Pro Case
Q6600-G0 2.7GHz
nVidia 680i A1 Revision
4GB 800MHz XMS2
1x500 GB WD, 2x500GB WD RAID-1
2x500GB Ext
nVidia GeForce 8800GTX 768MB
ATI TV Wonder 650
Air Cooled Stage 3

I was just noticing this in the Gallery section, and I think I will. Also, what do you think of the case? Does it have a motherboard tray, and Im assuming its a modified Silverstone Temjin TJ04, is this correct?

Duke: Since Im only using 4gb and not 8 or more gb of memory, I believe the 64 bit version would eat up all of the memory it frees just due to the fact that the data strings are longer and take up more space. Also, there isnt a great plethora of 64 bit native apps. Im not 100 percent on that though, but I think thats the case.

SkyR: I figured I would have the 850 to leave wattage for added drives, maybe another card, etc. Of course your right, In that case Id be better off just upgrading the case and lowering the current wattage as the power supply is easier to change out, eh?

Thanks for the suggestions you guys, this is awesome.

Oh yeah, and that. Research sounds like a great plan now that you mention it.
