I can buy a new DS computer that is almost 2x better than what I currently have for the same price after only 7 months of buying mine. Just configured a complete beast with way better specs than what I bought and more RAM, etc and it costs the same! I hate how technology advances so fast!!!!!
Say I want to upgrade my CPU w/ the same case and stuff and get maybe a new mobo/cpu/GPUs is there a way to get a quote from DS? I am probably not able to get stuff myself and do my own upgrade, so my best option would be to send it back and have DS do it for me. I would probably do this every year or 2. Judging by the specs of your system, you should NOT upgrade now. Your system is still VERY, VERY capable!
Instead, wait until Q408 or Q109 and get a Nehalem CPU and NV70 (if that's out by that time.)

aye... thats what I was probably planning on doing... maybe sending it back around next thanksgiving or so and seeing if they can revamp it. I imagine it will still cost a pretty penny but hopefully they can work up a price for me when the time comes. Im the kind of person that likes to stay on the bleeding edge

I think you'd make out better selling your current rig and buying a new one rather than an upgrade.

you think? I might have to see what type of charge I would incur before doing that to see if it will save money. I don't imagine my machine will be worth as much in 6 months.

i cant imagine what you want to do (computer wise) that the system in your sig could not handle.
i would hardly call that out dated, and after 7 months... it looks like you picked correctly

Just looking at yr specs !ender,, these Q6600 chips OC nicely!! I heard Intel was going to stop producing,, well i know tech stuff has to move forward,, but intel did good on these chips..
Im just glad I purchased one myself,. I know I've been happy with it.

nah I was complaining b/c I can't run age of conan on 16QxAA at more than 50 fps
but realistically I will be upgrading every year or so... so we'll see. I will probably sell these ultras when the time comes so someone will have to make offers when it does
