Does anybody have any problems with this sound card after installing to the current updates? some updated drivers wont install since it ask for update my windows to XP or newer!??!!? I'm running WINDOWS 7!!
i get a crapy sound, and in some of the games i dont have all the sounds
Example:
in Far Cry 2 i have the settings set at max and everything runs very smooth, but i dont have any sound from walking, phone ring and conversations on the phone, no reload sound. i rested all my settings to default with no luck. Could my card be going bad?

There are so many damn settings with those cards, maybe you have them configured wrong or not in the most optimal way?
My only advice is to skip the speculation and call DS and get a tech on the phone. Their customer service is top notch, and the tech will do all they can to help you out. Good luck. now to fix my own issues with my mic not working with the sound card I have.........ha..... |

Yeah...I mean its overwhelming with the 15 places I can physically or digitally change or adjust the volume. Then there are the 10 places you can set the "default" or used ports for speakers and mics.....don't get me started on the whole "mixer" issue.
Its cool, and fun to try stuff, but very complex. I think I have a good sound setting now with the front Vol button on the case as the main Vol control. I hope... |

ok I uninstalled everything with the sound card and just installed the drivers on the CD and just the updated drivers only (no addtional tools ro anything) and i get the same result on what i discribed above.
Could it be a MOB, sound card, settings (i have tried different settings) I cant seem to figure this out!!!
Thinking about reformating the hard driver and start from scratch, but would like soem advise on this before i do.

You need Justin or one of those real PC gurus, not some suburban slob like myself telling ya whats up.
Ha The reinstall of the sound card software did it for me when I screwed up my settings/system. |

I've read many many many articles that the Win7 drivers are just god awful and buggy as hell.
