Budget:
around $1800 is my limit

Usage:
I really love MMOs (currently I only play WoW which isn't that graphically intensive, but that can always change) and I do a lot of work on 3D models in Maya and 3DS Max and texture work in Photoshop. I use the rest of the Adobe CS suite and do some compositing work in Nuke. I also connect my laptop to my TV using the HDMI output so I can watch streaming media on my TV. I like having the ability to work on the go/bring my laptop to the office and also game when I'm not at home, which is why I'm considering a laptop rather than a desktop.

Special Needs:
I need a good amount of storage space for all of my media and I want a very nice framerate while I game (even in a busy raid environment with lots of spell effects and particles). My previous laptop had EXTREME heat issues and I need to know the ventilation of this laptop is better, and that the fans are easily cleanable. Heat distribution and knowing this laptop will last a long time are my main concerns.

I've heard a lot about doghouse systems and was only recently introduced to Digital Storm. Digital Storm is giving me a much better deal on a superior machine, so I'd like to buy from them as long as I'm completely convinced this laptop will do the job.

Thanks for the help and advice!

The x17 can have two HDDs installed, you can have another one if you ditch the DVD drive and buy a HDD caddy with another hard drive.

It has good cooling on this laptop. You'll be able to easily clean your the CPU and GPU fans in about 10 to 15 minutes.

I recommend upgrading the wireless card to an Intel Ultimate N 6330 for better range.
