Currently have my x17 ordered and in the middle of being shipped. Curiosity has gotten the better of me, and I've been trying to find some information on the screen that it uses. I know it's a 16:9, 1080p, glossy screen, but really that doesn't tell me a whole lot.

I was wondering if someone knew of or could point me to some hard information on the performance of the screen. IE Brightness, White and Black levels, static and dynamic contrast ratios.

I don't want to post links of other resellers on Digital Storm's board but if you Google Clevo P170EM and also on YouTube, you'll find great information and videos on your laptop. Our x17 laptop is based on the Clevo P170EM laptop
 
In my experience, the screen is awesome. There is reflection if you are in a room with bright lighting but, when I'm gaming, I just dim the lights and the backlit keyboard works great.

The screens are all beautiful, anyway (although I kind of wish that they were matte).

Yea, I searched for info on the P170EM. I found plenty of info for the matte screen, but was having trouble figuring out which glossy screen the DS version uses. If the matte display information is any indicator, the screen is above average, with decent brightness, low black levels and a really high static contrast ratio.

Now a question; anyone have a recommendation for a matte screen protector?
