I notice that the intel 160GB SSD (SDSA2MH160G1C5) is available from newegg for $449, and costs $707 to add to a DS laptop ($819 to add as a second drive).  Is there a reason for this large price difference?

I think Alex mentioned that because of the rapid depreciation of SSD's they DS has to sell the drives at roughly whatever they paid for them until they clear their inventory.

OK, makes sense.  Since I was going to get a couple of them, it probably makes sense to get my DS laptop with no drives at all, and get both of them from newegg then.  I feel somehow guilty doing that, but it's like a $625 price difference.
