I have always been one to want the best. Up until now, I thought the big computer companies put out a pretty decent product....never really had much trouble with any of them.
I stumbled upon DS while looking for my next PC. Crazy part is that I was looking for a top of the line PC but it had to fit in the space I had setup for it....I literally had my Dell 9000 in my cart and was about to hit the submit button....I'm really glad I didn't. I ordered the following configuration: Chassis Model: Cooler Master Elite 310 Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz (Quad Core) Motherboard: EVGA X58 Micro Edition SLI (Intel X58 Chipset) System Memory: 6GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 750W Corsair TX (Dual SLI Compatible) Hard Drive Set 1: OS: 1x (160GB Velociraptor 10k rpm drive) Hard Drive Set 2: Backup - 1TB - Hitachi 7200 rpm drive Optical Drive 1: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 22x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 22x / CD-Writer 48x) Internet Access: High Speed Network Port Video Card: 1x ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 1: Noctua Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler (Compatible With ONLY i7 Processors) Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Blue) Boost Processor: FREE: Stage 1: Overclock the processor between 3.3GHz to 3.9GHz (Requires Air Cooling Upgrade) Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit Edition) I also purchased another WD Caviar Black 1TB drive, a Creative X-fi Titanium Sound Card, a Hauppauge HDTV Card, a slimline HP wireless keyboard and a wireless Logitech Mouse. I already had a pretty nice Klipsch audio setup. I also purchased a sweet APC battery backup so I could lose all of the power strips and jumbled cords in behind my credenza. The APC unit hides nicely inside of it and all cords are now running back into the workspace. .....the waiting is the hardest part...no kidding. My system arrived this past Friday (3/12/10) after about a three week wait (one week for ground shipping). I couldnt wait to get started....Obviously, I had some work ahead of me installing the add-ons mentioned above as well as another 250GB drive from my old PC.....I realized pretty early on that I needed to call support as I wasnt sure how I was going to get my ATI 5770, the TV Card and my sound card to fit on the motherboard. I also needed a refresher in how to hook up my HD's as well as the USB/Firewire add-on....I called DS at approx 2pm est and was told that support was busy and that they would call me back....I immediately got concerned but my concern was eased when they called back in less than 30 mins....I will say that I immediately wondered what would happen if it went into the weekend and I was forced to stare at this big metal container of electronics with no chance of getting it up and running. Phew... The tech was helpful and solved each of my issues. Two bloody knuckles later (WTH is everything so sharp inside of the case?) I hooked up the power and plugged in my Dell U2410 panel and voila......a thing of beauty. I've been working on it since then making sure all is in order, data is where I want it, etc....So far, I am glad I ordered my PC from DS. See pics below!! |

Nice, That's one huge CPU cooler. Are you sure you have enough airflow with the case inside the deask like that? Just curious, enjoy the new rig of yours it looks very nice.
