Hey there, new visitor here with a few questions about a build.  I'm currently running on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+, 2.2 GHz, 3 gigs ram, Nvidia 9800 GTX graphics card.  I'm finding I'm about to fall off the bottom end of the recommended gaming specs for a lot of the games I play, which are mostly RPGs and MMOs.  I generally play about 1680x1050 resolution, single monitor.  Here's what I was looking at getting:

Later on if necessary I'd throw in another 5870 to extend the operational lifetime (which I expect to be 5-6 years, similar to my current computer,) so for now my budget's around 2500.  Pretty much I have a couple questions before I pull the trigger:

1) Should I wait?  I was reading on these forums Fermi and i9 will push down prices on current stuff, and if the SSDs come down in price I may consider adding one.  I'm not in a particular hurry but I would like to upgrade before the next online FF comes out.  How often does DS have sales?

2) Do I really need the EVGA 3x SLI, or could/should I go with a less pricey mb since I don't see myself doing anything requiring triple Crossfire?  Same question about the power supply.

you can wait if you like but you will just endup waiting, right now IMO is the best time to get a x58 platform, go with a 920 now and then 3 years from now upgrade the cpu to a i9(which is now actually named i7 980X) for a cheap price.

gpu/ssd and etc can all be upgraded down the road to newer better ones.

if you see yourself going sli then 3x sli or classified would be better but you will get good results with LE still, you just won't get 2 x 16x lanes.

power supply, if you are sure you will never go dual sli, then let me know, we can change both your mobo and psu.

I would have gone with win7 pro just incase but that is damn good build, and it has much room to grow if you wanted it to. congrats thats what you call a smart buy this case will cost very little over the years to upgrade and keep powerful, I think that is my favorite feature of all these builds once again Congrats And let the torture begin
