I hate to keep bugging you gurus but I am trying to stay as close to $2500K as possible. Here is my latest. I play some games and surf the net and some programming. What do you think:

I think your config is pretty nice except for the graphics card.
I think given the current environment you will be dissappointed with a single 9800GTX I would reccomend this config, it drops one optical drive and upgrades the other to a lightscribe burner. I also added a card reader as this adds an extra USB as well on the front panel which is really nice. I upgraded your motherboard to an intelx48 and replaced your 9800GTX with a Radeon 4870. The motherboard can support Crossfire when you get some extra money, and in the case you used, or the one I picked, I think stage 3 cooling is not cost effective. So I dropped it to Stage 2 I think either system will kick some serious butt... however I think you will get better long term value if you go with the newer Radeon 4870 card. In the cases he is looking at however, stage 3 is nothing more than perhaps 1 120MM fan... for almost 90 bucks... Not worth it (TM)

Thanks for the responses guys.
DST4ME, I've been kinda hesitant about the liquid cooled/chilled. Let me remove all doubt about my intelligence or lack there of , but is there any maintenance associated with going with the cooling you suggest?? Does coolant need to be added from time to time. Just don't know what I'm getting in to and I'm kinda lazy about it.
Thanks again!

you just need to check the level every few month and add a bit of liquid if needed, other then that, once every 5 years you may want to change the liquid.
all of that easy and you have life time support so you can call DS if you don't feel comfortable and they will walk you right thru it |

Thanks to everyone for your help. I think I have decided on this configuration.
A little closer to my budget and hopefully my needs.

Its a nice one but:
change your vist to premium not ultimate I strongly recomment the digital raptor its a faster drive and you want that for your os. with the haf you don't realy need stage 3 all they do is replace the 2 big fans with 4 small ones each. so go with stage 2. if you go make those changes: here you go Ticket# 184556 --- Price: $2666 Copy of Specifications: Chassis: Cooler Master HAF 932 Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Interior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Power Supply: 1000W Corsair HX (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 2.66GHz (1333MHz FSB) (12MB Cache) Motherboard: NVIDIA 780i Core 2 Quad (Chipset: nForce 780i SLI) System Memory: 4GB DDR2 OCZ at 1066MHz (SLI-Ready Edition) Card Reader: Internal Digital Media Card Reader (Black) Hard Drive 1: 150GB Western Digital Raptor (10K RPM) (16MB Cache) (SATA) (Extreme Speed) Hard Drive 2: 500GB Western Digital (16MB Cache) (7200 RPM) (SATA) Raid Option: - No Thanks Hard Drive 3: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD-ROM/CD-ROM (DVD Reader 16x / CD Reader 40x) Optical Drive 2: DVD±R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 20x / CD-Writer 48x) (LightScribe Edition) Wireless Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 896MB (Includes PhysX Technology) TV Tuner: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: Air Cooled Stage 2 (Silent Artic Cooling Heat-sink Upgrade (Copper Heatpipes) Internal Lighting: Blizzard Internal Lighting (Green Edition) (Cold Cathode Tubes) Modifications: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Yes, Overclock the processor as much as possible with complete stability Boost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: Yes, Overclock memory timings (Includes Memory Fan Kit Installed) Tweak Windows: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) (For Enthusiasts) Restore Kit: Digital Storm Specialized Recovery System (DVD Image Based) Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Benchmarking: - No Thanks Install/Test Game: - No Thanks LCD Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Warranty: 3 Year Platinum Care Extended Parts & Labor Warranty |

After going with 4GB ram, going with a fast cpu and powerful gpu, a nice raptor HDD would be the next logical addition. The cooling of the HAF case is damn impressive without any fan changes. I'd discuss any modifications with the guys at DSO so you know what you'd be paying for and what the results would be. The cooling might be better, but the noise would be higher. I don't know anything about those huge fans in the case myself.
