So I want to mess around with my lighting. I got the HAF 932 and didn't realize it would come with the lower red light. I want to take that out and replace it... in addition to just adding cathodes and being an all around aesthetic dork.
Is there any advice, or a step-by-step process you can give me on how to remove/add the lights, where to put them, and what you think looks best? If you answer "it's easy buddy, just get in there and figure it out" I understand as it sounds like a relatively simple thing to do even for the non-computer savvy, but I just wanted to see if you could give or if I need any help. Also, I apologize if you addressed this somewhere else. I looked and couldn't find anything. Anyway, thanks! edit: Wish DS forums had a PM system. Oh well. edit2: Oh and I would welcome advice from anyone, but I just know this is Ender's thing and I wanted to get his attention. Edited by rayfinkle - 26 Sep 2010 at 11:59am |

ok for replacing the individual front lower intake fan, you need to grab the grill covering it from the bottom and pull it off, its pretty snug, but it should pop off
that will reveal 4 phillips head screws, which are holding the fan on
to replace it with the fan i have you can just contact CM directly and tell them you need a fan (or multiple) fan replacements for http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119213&cm_re=haf_932-_-11-119-213-_-Product
which are the blue LED versions of the fans on the normal HAF
(the front lower fan may also have a pushbutton switch coming off of it, so have a look around before you unscrew anything, mine come with switches, but they are from the blue HAF, not sure if they are the same
now as far as adding cathode tubes individually, its pretty easy. the cables and the power adapter for it are actually more trouble than installing the lights themselves
heres some pictures to hopefully help
basically you just look for stretches of case that are able to hold the tubes, included with the tubes will be velcro that you stick to the tubes and then to the case so you can easily pull them out if you need to
the cabling is a hassle, as you can tell from the before and after
before http://yfrog.com/4jp6205116j
you can barely see from the pictures, but the 2nd green cathode tube is behind the very bottom lip of the case, placement is all about preference, i wanted my green to be more subtle and the red more blatant, so i put red in the more obvious spot

Hey there,
I know Ender probably answered all of your questions; however, I have a question of my own regarding the 932 case. I'm thinking of getting that case for my current config, but considering the red front fan, I chose for red LED fan upgrade. Probably unnecessary, but hey, I like glowy things. Anyway, if you happened to choose an LED fan upgrade, were the other two 230mm (I think those are their size, right?) fans left in? I'm hoping if I get an LED upgrade, they won't replace the window/"roof" fan. It would be nice to have those big guys kept in there! Let me know, thanks!! |

no, the replacement fans are all 120mm and will replace whatever current fans are in the case i believe
either way, the 932 needs no help with cooling

Hey Ender... so I ordered this:
http://www.coolermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=2946 Is it an upgrade to the stock fan even though it's smaller? Isn't it smaller? haha... I'm slow. |

The actual size is 200x230x30mm. I was looking for an exact replacement and came upon this one on frozencpu.com. Shipping charges were ridiculous but the fan is the exact same size except with blue LEDs.
