How big of a difference does upgrading to 144hz monitor really make?

If you're playing games that are fast paced and have a PC that can run at 100+ FPS, you will definitely notice a difference.

I think if you are gaming at 75-80 fps on hardly any games and only usually gaming at 60 fps in most situations.. Its not worth. Now, like Nav said, if you playing some fun games that are really fact paced with a lot of motion then you might want to consider a 144hz monitor. But only if your PC can run at least 80+ fps at almost all times. Hell, 100 fps sounds just as good. ;)

I will be able to tell you my personal experience with 144hz on Friday... I am excited to try it out.
But the research seems pretty convincing that it absolutely makes a difference for gaming applications.. maybe digital artwork as well but I wouldn't really know. I also am curious about using Nvidia G-Sync at 144hz and how significant that is. Seems to be on a game by game basis to a degree |

I would say games like FPS (first person shooters) are what you will see a big difference with. Basically where you have a lot of large movements on your display as you game.

I'm thinking of playing CSGO, so investing in one sounds like a plan :)
