Price range is around the 2000-2300ish mark, closer to 2000 the better. No monitor or anything else is needed.
The computer will be used for almost entirely gaming, and not too much else. 617220 is the current build. First time getting a computer and building, so i don't know a whole lot on whats good/needed/useless etc. Any help with getting the most for my money would be appreciated, and if possible lowering cost while keeping it about the same for usage. Thanks |

Well you can waste $2150 on that config or get ode 1 and pay much less.
you don't need the deluxe, I don't recommend the 800w psu, vortex cooler, upgrade fans, those are all not the best choices. look at this, better psu, gpu, cpu, case, cpu cooler, and oc for less: Here you go Ticket# 617791 --- $2,091 (To see this build click here) Copy of Specifications: Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master 942 HAF X Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core) Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 (Intel P67 Chipset) (New B3 Revision) (Does Not Support SLI) System Memory: 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 750W Corsair HX (Dual SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (120GB Solid State (By: Intel) (Model: 320 Series) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: DVD-R/RW/CD-R/RW (DVD Writer 24x / CD-Writer 48x) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 1.2GB (Includes PhysX Technology) (EVGA Edition) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Corsair A70 Dual 120mm Fans High Performance Cooler H20 Tube Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: - No Thanks Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Stage 1: Overclock CPU 4.0GHz to 4.4GHz Boost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 5-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty Of course ode 1 is $600 cheaper. I like the one you made up, though i would make the addition of a 500gig hd top of the sd, 120 gig is just not enough for me, lol. Overall ends up being a tiny bit more expensive, with a decent bit more bang for a buck.
Is there a difference between the motherboard you have picked out and the m-pro outside the m-pro is basically the same price and supports sli? id like to have options for potential upgrades in the future. And any chance youd know what the shipping charges would end up being for Canada, pei? And thanks! |

I would not know prices for shipping or anything.
hdd prices are high right now, wait and around march add the hdd so you don't over pay, keep in mind: HDD1 = fast small drive: os/apps/games HDD2 = regular large drive: media/personal/work file storage to go sli you would need to change your psu also, with mpro and sli you get less pci lanes, the p67 has the most pci lanes between the two but can't do sli. |

Ahh, nvm on the sli than.
The hdd is a bit of a requirement now considering im a packrat with games. The ssd isnt big enough to hold my steam folder not to mention everything else, the ssd is for select games where it would make a difference, so im gonna be a little picky with it. I don't mind paying a bit extra for it right now, the 10% off sale helps make up for it overall, but i did notice it seemed a bit pricy eitherway, lol. |

you only need to install the games you gonna play, keep the rest on hdd, and just move them back and forth as you play.
