Personally, I notice a big sound increase with the zalman fans if those are what you are reffering to.

you guys are killing me, in the config section eastor and some others have been told by james that the zalmans are more quite then the stock fans.
I agreed with you Sarah that the zalmans are louder but apparently james keeps telling customers otherwise. |

Not sure why, the zalmans are defienetly louder, especially once they get cranked up and going. All of our performance fans cause a noise level increase.

I agree with you a 100% and when I tried to pass that info to eastor and some other users, james told them that I'm wrong and the fans are not loud

I would say, the Zalmans are quieter under the same RPM against stock chassis fans since they of a higher quality build. However, under full 100%, they will be louder since they would be spinning at a faster RPM than case fans will.
In the end, you can order the Zalman package, and with fine tuning, your fans will be quieter then stock chassis fans, but, at 100%, they will obviously be louder since they can run at higher RPMS at 100%.

I had a Zalman VF900 on my last GPU, and yes it was the loudest fan in my case. Quite loud. That's my only experience with Zalman fans.
I also wouldn't go with Zalman CPU or GPU coolers anymore because there
are just plain better options for less. Didn't used to be the case.
Zalman has fallen behind in recent years. One thing I WOULD get would be one of their NC2000 notebook coolers. Excellent stuff.
I currently use a T-Rad2 with 2 Scythe slim 100mm fans and they are literally silent. Also keeps things quite cool. 42C right now in a 24C room. For quite case fans, go Noctua, Sythe Slipstream or Sythe S-Flex. I've used all. All are very good. Edited by angelicvoices - 25 Jul 2009 at 4:09pm |

Yeah, the Zalaman fans aren't quiet but I can tell you that the noise level is much less then my old Dell XPS 710 H2C, even at 100% with the front fan controller. My wife noticed that it seemed to cool the room down with the HAF case I have.
