Took me a bit to figure all that out. I have not changed anything.
The system came from DS with UAC off, and with the only account as an admin account. Yes 64 bit.

Everything seemed to be going fine until it asked what kind of connection I had, network, regular home computer, I wish I had paid more attention, must have picked the wrong choice.
Things went downhill very quickly after that.
I even used the link on ESET web site for the uninstall tool for avast before I installed ESET.
I really don't know what I don't know.

No, still trouble in paradise.
Those were the settings when things went south, have not tried again.

uninstall eset, go to program folder and if it has a folder left delete it, then reboot then try again.

good luck let me know if you get the same error, cause in that case we need to go folder options and take control of your program files to bypass this.

Wow, that was easy.
Not sure what if anything I did differently, but install was very easy and fast.
First scan showed no bad stuff.
I will see how it runs for the 30 days and buy if all goes well.
The best part is if anything goes wrong I can blame DST4ME. Ouch

good so as long as it monitoring you http activity, real time file system protection, updates automatically, scans your PC once a week and you don't install/open any files that you have downloaded without scanning first, there is no way for a virus to get on your PC.

you can check the potentially unwanted applications also but you may get some false positives.
