So I have a decent 21" Vizio HDMI TV just laying around and seeing as how I just shelled out $1400 for a DS pc I thought I might just use that instead of buying a monitor.

Any huge downsides of using a tv as a monitor? I don't think resolution should be a huge issue since my TV is pretty small.

Make sure it is in a 'game' mode so the input latency is low. Otherwise when you are doing things like moving the mouse cursor around, the display will noticeably trail your input. Other that, it should be fine. I'd imagine since it is only a 21" display that it is meant for somewhat close viewing, so the distance between the LCD filter and the backlight should be small.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't even think about latency issues. I'll try it out.
