So was playing Sniper Elite 3 for about an hour and a half and my temps reached to 75 degrees on Speccy is that safe? Yesterday when i was playing it was only in the mid 50s.

Maybe i'm just paranoid about my graphics card overheating.

Hi Arkansas... 75c is perfectly safe. Some games just push the gpu more than others. Not sure about that game, but Far Cry 3 pushes my card a lot higher than any other. Yesterday in the mid 50s was another game?   50s actually is pretty low.

No yesterday it was the same game and when i got done playing it was in the mid 50s and it kinda concerned me that it shot up to 75 degrees in an hour and a half of playing. Maybe its because theres a lot going on in the game idk

I'm probably not use to seeing high temps as most games i've played they usually are under 60 degrees

That's a bit strange. Could be the setting, location in game.    Try another game. If you've been typically in the 50s, which is very low, and now in the 70s then something might be going on. Still safe though. In the 80s is still good, though I like 70s.

Try a different monitoring program like HWMonitor for second opinion.

Never really realized how hot 70C is until I had to reach back by the exhaust fan one day during an intensive game session... immediately shut down the game to check Speccy and HWMonitor all panicked that it was so hot and I was burning something up....  it was 72C.

Hi ArkansasWoman777,

As already stated 75 is a cozy temp for gaming and not considered high for most computers. With your sudden change I would be making sure all of your fans are working. Have you cleaned the computer lately? You might have some dust problems.

What may have happened is you got to a more demanding place in your game and it just took more work to accomplish the task at hand.

Hey FrankW, i actually dusted my pc out just last week so i know that can't be it and all my fans are working.

I think it was just that spot in the game because when i was playing Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit the other day it never broke 40 degrees.

Hi ArkansasWoman777,

If you want to know for sure, go back to that same segment of the game and see if it gets warmer again.

I figured you would have a clean computer.

So played some more sniper elite 3 today and it mainly stayed in the 60s a majority of the time and never went past 75

NVIDIA visited PCGamer for a short tutorial on overclocking the EVGA Titan GPUs on the Large Pixel Collider. They talk about temperature a little...nothing overly detailed, just shows you some guaranteed operational limits of the cards.

So was on mission 3 last night and it seems this an area where it mostly stays in the 70s but doesn't go over 75

HiArkansasWoman777,

It looks like that part of the game requires more output from your GPU. I don't think you have anything to worry about at 75.

Yea i played in windowed mode for a few hours and had speccy up alongside it and while i played i watched the temps.

On mission 2 it mainly stayed in the 60s and when i got to mission 3 it bumped to the 70s but didn't go over 75.

Now when i start the game up it jumps to the 50s and 60s but i honestly think its just how Sniper Elite 3 is, it is kinda a demanding game. I plan to try another game later and see what the temps are like.

Those temps are normal for the graphics card. Nothing to worry.
