Ok, need advice.

Went through my usual cleaning and thought I would run Memtest86 on some new RAM installed. Everything went fine, created boot USB, etc and now I have to get into the BIOS to change load order... easy, right?

When I open the UEFI BIOS the mouse is centered on the screen and will immediately return to center no matter which way, or how fast, I move it. I have control but only for a split second. Any ideas?

Particulars:
Vanquish 2 (circa 2014)
Intel Core i5 4570 @ 3.20GHz
16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 799MHz (11-11-11-28)
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. H81M-E (SOCKET 1150)

-> Current Boot order
111GB Corsair Neutron GTX SSD (SSD)
931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 (SATA)

-> Flash drive I'm trying to boot from:
29GB SanDisk Cruzer USB Device (USB)


I'm including monitor specs because of something odd. I have made the VA2445 my Number 1 or main monitor, yet when I try to run the BIOS it comes up on the old E2041, number 2 monitor, and the main monitor remains off.

VA2445 SERIES (1920x1080@60Hz)
E2041 (1600x900@60Hz)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 (PNY)

Any hints or advice would be appreciated.

I remember reading about something similar here:

but I'm not 100% sure if it is relevant to your particular system.

If it's a wireless mouse you're using, try using a wired mouse jacked into a native USB 2.0 port. Also, be sure to disconnect any other unnecessary hardware(joysticks in particular) that you might have plugged in via USB ports.

Make sure your mouse if not usb 2.0 in a 3.0 port, I have heard people having problems like this here and there in the bios wtih that, don't know why.

Also as mentioned make sure no other usb device is connected for now, and just take it out the port and try a different port but I'm thinking you already did this.

Actually, no, I haven't tried that. Shortly after making this thread I was called away from the system and haven't seen it since. I'll get back to it tomorrow sometime and post an update.

"Official Employee"?!?! Wow. That's odd. Must be that way to operate the moderator tools. No, I'm not really an employee but I sure like the look of that! Now we can really discuss the Aventum 4 EMPLOYEE 100% DISCOUNT! Right Alex?! RIGHT?!?!

No, the mouse is wired, but the comment about joysticks has me really wondering. I do have a USB joystick. I'll pull that and check.

Pulled the joystick and everything was right where it was supposed to be, doing what it was supposed to do.
