Budget:
Under $1700

Usage:
Mostly strategy games like Rome:Total War II, Civ 5, Sim City, etc.

Special Needs: Considering the Bolt II because I do want something SFF. I also want it as quiet as possible.

Specifications:

Configuration Code:     1162969

It's the standard level 1 config with a liquid cooling upgrade and lighting taken out. Would the radiator help a lot with noise level? Should I consider the hydrolux control?

If I already have an external 1TB HD should I bother with the internal one? I was thinking I could wait sometime for SSD prices to come down and install a 2nd one later.

Thanks.

You don't need liquid cooling, but our Control Board option under airflow will help ensure you have a quiet system.

If you don't want to get a larger storage drive now, just make sure you get a large SSD, like a 250GB+

I was able to get my Bolt II noise down substantially. Details are in my write-up, linked in my signature. And as for storage, you can use your own...which is what I did with a large SSD I had. SSD prices are already getting pretty low (relatively speaking) and they will provide the most noticeable light usage performance boost in a system.

Hi Arkady,

If a SFF case is your primary goal then you have a good build for this budget level. However, you are sacrificing performance in order to get the Bolt II case. There are better options for a quiet computer, more CPU power, more GPU power, a SLI motherboard and a bigger power supply within your budget.

I'd suggest using the internal HDD and use the external HDD for back ups.

With SFF you kind of limit upgradeability but this will handle your present needs nicely.

Appreciate everyone's input. Was considering building on my one but I'm a bit of a novice. With a SFF I'm just concerned about heat issues and ending up with something overly loud. This seems to be giving me what I need.
