A good overview on getting your boot & start-up time down was written up here:

http://www.thessdreview.com/ssd-guides/optimization-guides/complete-guide-to-speeding-up-your-pcs-boot-times/

One thing they did omit to say is that if you have your HDD or SSD encrypted with TPM and you have Windows fast start-up enabled, that is a major vulnerability as the Hiberfile can be easily extracted and the encryption key discovered. This goes for putting the computer into a hibernation state, too. Sleep mode is more difficult to attack, technically, but it is still possible. If you don't have encryption, you don't need to worry about this, as you're unprotected to begin with (but you may not really need the protection of encryption to begin with).
