I'd actually consider going with an AMD Ryzen processor, if you have a fair amount of video rendering work (and you care about time-to-render). I'd also boost the capacity of the HDD and system memory some.

Thanks for the advice. Taking out the video rendering(when I say some I mean very little) would the i7-7700K be the better choice?

For gaming I would grab the 7700k for its much faster core clocks. They test better than Ryzen and gaming does like single core speeds.
The Ryzen will get better over time but without the need for the added cores by dropping the video editing requirement, the 7700k is a better pick. The rest looks good. You could get by with a 750 watt psu, unless you want sli capability, but the 850 watt doesn't hurt. |
