Instead of just posting link after link, reply after reply in the other thread, I thought I'd make a better megathread, with better pictures, and less links. More information, and less clicking.

Benchmarks:

***Not all of these are confirmed.

EVGA

Superclock - It's important to note here that it only has one power connector.

FTW - Please note that this card is not only wider (taller) but also has dual 8-pin connectors.

ZOTAC

AMP - Specs haven't been released just yet, but we can see a slight difference in coolers between this and the AMP! Extreme.

AMP! Extreme

ASUS - The NDA doesn't lift until tomorrow (27th May 2016), so these are "leaked" unconfirmed.

Strix - Unconfirmed until 05/27/2016. Note the LEDs on the Box showing you how the cooler lights up.

Gigabyte

Gigabyte XTREME Gaming

SOURCES:
JayzTwoCents
VideoCardz
HotHardWare - SLI benchmarks

I did not include Gainward Pheonix or Inno3d Chill just yet as their "leaks" aren't very good quality at all. I will try to add more custom PCB/aftermarket cooler editions from currently listed brands and other brands when they are revealed. I will also try and provide specs for each of these as more are released.

**Here is an unofficial comparison of the 1080's including the FE**

****I will edit this and add more as we see more released/leaked. Please keep in mind that not everything here in confirmed, and many things can and probably will change last minute before "official" release for custom PCB's and coolers.****

NDA lifts today on many companies cards today, such as ASUS. So should have more to post on here.

Here's a question from an SLI noob. If I buy, say, an Apollo with a single 1080 and a SLI compatible mobo and PSU, will I need to later purchase a Founders Edition in order to properly SLI the cards? Or do I have any wiggle room?

Just want to see what are my options if I don't go SLI today.

Yea, you can mix and match your cards as long as they are both 1080's. You can't do a EVGA 1080 FTW with an ASUS 1070 Strix. But you can do EVGA 1080 FTW with an ASUS 1080 Strix.

And with the low power requirements, as long as you have like a 750-850 watt power supply, at very least, you should be completely set on power and cables.

Interestingly the EVGA Hydro Copper and Hybrid cards appear to be non-reference boards this time around. I'm curious if they'll be using the 10+2 power phase design of the FTW or the 14+3 of the Classified.

ASUS to put dual 4-pin pwm fan headers so that you can plug case fans into it, and they will sync with gpu fans based on GPU load and temperature.

http://pcdiy.asus.com/2016/05/this-is-the-asus-strix-geforce-gtx-1080-pascal-on-another-level/

"... the Strix GeForce GTX 1080 has dual 4-pin fan headers controlled by the GPU temperature. Plug standard case fans into the card, and ASUS FanConnect technology will adjust their speed based on the graphics load. Pretty much everyone can use this unique feature to make their system cooling more intelligent, and overclockers can direct additional airflow to the graphics card to lower temperatures and improve stability."

Since it's a custom PCB, for the price they cost, they better be running a 14+3 power phase. It would realistically only make sense.

You still need to be careful. A rigid SLI connector may not work with cards of different heights and I have yet to see a flexible "SLI HB" connector.

My GPU's are like my memory. While we can mix and match... I still prefer to keep it all the same. Less issues.

Thanks for the reply; that helps to alleviate some of my worries.

Do we know which version of the Founders Edition DS is including with their builds? It'd be nice to know so I can buy as similar a card as possible.

Knowing DS, I'm assuming it'll mostly be ASUS. But they carry a varied stock.

I'd say 9/10 they will keep you with matching GPU's for SLI, but if not... they are all founder's editions, so mix matching brands won't be a problem unless we get into the after market coolers.

Don't worry, as it is right this very moment. You're good to go.
