Machine arrived today - so far working like a charm. The wait was longer that I'd like and I'm still downloading everything so I'll give updated impressions later but it's fast as hell. My Microsoft account didn't seem to sync my desktop/settings right and I'm not sure why but that was probably a user error or Microsoft issue. I designed this thing to be top quality but quiet and price efficient. Here's the specs and pics as well as a final timeline. Note one of my monitors isn't working because the graphics card only has one HDMI port - I've ordered an adapter from Amazon to take care of that.

So far my only complain is the fan noise. Not even how loud it is, but it seems to constantly fluctuate, it almost sounds like a howling wind. I don't mind white noise if it's the same pitch but the constant fluctuation in noise is distracting. There's a BIOS update available for my video card that tweaks the fan speed. If that doesn't fix it I'm going to contact DS support.

Well it fluctuates as needed to save power. You should be able to adjust it. It is your gpu card? GTX 1080?

The intake is on the side of the front panel. It looks like air is a bit constricted there, so giving it more breathing room may help. Also, you can load Asus AI Suite and go to the Fan Xpert where you can have the fans completely shut off at low temperatures. You can also have it find the minimum fan operating speed in there with their auto tuning.

There are some panels I can take off on the Slade that would give it more air but I'm going to try the firmware update for the video card first. Still need to play around with it but sure hope I can resolve it.

Have your temps and RPMs been fluctuating at the same pace?

Great looking PC, the fluctuating can be set to a fixed speed. Our team can help with this and the community.

Well I flashed the video card to enable the 0dB mode and I went into the motherboard BIOS and had the mother board run an auto-optimization on the fans. It took the minimum CPU fan speed from 60% to 20% and the minimum chassis fan speeds from 60% to 35%.
Now it sounds great, a nice low hum I generally can't hear! Edited by ShadowXOR - 16 Aug 2016 at 9:45pm |

Still makes some weird noises of the fans going up and down when under load, not sure why.

When they are underload the temp goes up and then the fans go up.
But if all the fans are going up and down that is not right. the cpu and gpu to some extent might be explained. Edited by DST4ME - 16 Aug 2016 at 11:00pm |
