WoW. What a game and what a comeback. If you didn't watch the superbowl you missed probably the best superbowl ever. Tom Brady and the Patriots come back from 25 down in the 3rd quarter to win the game in overtime.
Tom Brady played his college football at the University of Michigan. I went to Michigan State. As an MSU alum I have no love for the U of M. But after this superbowl and the comeback by Tom Brady and the Patriots, Tom has to be the best quarterback ever in the NFL. |

I respect your opinion and on the face of it you would be correct. However, today's QBs should be wearing skirts and little pink ribbons. The quarterbacks who could take a pounding and still win in the fiercest of times are the great ones.
I refer you to two from the past: Messrs Bradshaw and Montana. Besides, if it weren't for the seahawks and the falcons choking so badly at the end, Mr. Brady would have a much different record. My 2¢ on the NFL. |

3 Super Bowl wins would still be pretty good by anybody's standards. My dad attended the Ice Bowl...apparently, by my dads account, there were fans without shirts in the stands with an average wind chill of −48 °F (−44 °C). |

Oh, I fully agree... even one Championship win is very impressive, more than one is, as the saying goes, rarified air. To have 3 and voted MVP makes for one very successful, meaningful and brilliant career. Absolutely no disrespect to Mr. Brady and his accomplishments because he is one of, if not the very best at what he does. My only niggle is to claim he is the Greatest of All Time. There are very few athletes who can claim GOAT status because times and eras are different. For example, Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer of this (just ending) era. However, he will never be the GOAT. There is, in my very unprofessional and biased opinion, only 2 people in sport I would call GOATs. (Caveat: Jerry Rice is really, really close to being number 3.) The two athletes I would refer to are Muhammad Ali and Wayne Gretzky. |

One of the best games I have watched and am no fan of either but favored the Falcons.
Great comeback, very impressive. ![]() PS: I think TB has 5 SB rings with last night's win, not three. And there is a big difference when comparing team vs individual sports. PSS: Lady Gaga's was great halftime. ![]() Edited by hoserator - 06 Feb 2017 at 3:34am |

Since I am so smart I turned off the game after the first half.

I concur with Snaike re: "Greatest of all Time" monikers. Sports evolve fairly quickly, and the conditions of today versus "yesterday" make an Apples to Apples comparison weak at best, especially in the NFL where so many of the "The QB is a Dainty Princess" rules only came into existence in the recent modern era.
But I'm an old worn out footballer from yester-year, so leave me to my nostalgia and all that. ![]() |

Quite correct. I was reffering to this comment:
And, as I've never been a fan of "spectacle" I'll have to take your word on Ms. Gaga as I missed it. I think I had some paint to watch dry or something.

I did the same as Frank, turned it off after half time. Turned it back on as everyone was cheering for the comeback. My life is the same, regardless, so all is good.

I just knew it was going to happen. We've seen it before. As soon as Atlanta lost the OT coin toss, I knew the game was over.
I'm one of those fans that enjoys seeing diversity in sports. It's nice to see a team rarely in Super Bowls like Atlanta being in one and actually win one for a change. |

It was an incredible game and once the Pats started to roll, you could see the Falcons tighten up. I do think that Brady is the greatest of all time. While I understand that it's a different league, I think the most compelling point to be made is he's basically done it with a different team each time due to free agency. While back in the day the game played differently and the defenses were allowed to do more things (I hate the video game passing that exists now), players from those teams were together for years. That's not the case in today's NFL. That's my two cents.
