I built my last system and even though it had a few issues I was pretty happy with it. This time though I have thought about going with a pre built machine and these guys were recommended. I like the idea of phone support and a warranty.

However I have been looking at the level 3 Vanquish for WOW. It's the only game I play. I don't have to have everything maxed but at least textures and view distance with some AA. I usually have the lighting and shadows and water to low. I think the machine would be fine but I priced out the components and could build it myself for like 675. I didn't think there was supposed to be a big markup here but so I don't know if there was something I was missing. I'm fine with paying the extra for the warranty and phone support.

I guess I'm looking for the nudge in either direction to build or buy one here outright.

Hi aaron8679..... Welcome to the forums.

You can for sure build it yourself for cheaper.   Not that they mark up the prices but more that they have overhead, like system builders, management, tech support, R&D, etc.   All these guys want to bring home a decent paycheck.  It's like paying a garage $150 to put front  brake pads on the car, when you can do it yourself for $30 in an hour or two.      Their time, profit and you just kicking back and waiting for it to get done.

A lot of us have built before and loved it, but it is nice to know that DS has your back if something goes belly up.   Nice people, lots of experience and from my experience, a pleasure to work with.

So would I get all my discs in the binder like I've seen in various videos? Would the level 3 be pretty good for WOW? I've always ended,up with pc's that are a tad underpowered right,from the start.

Ok I ordered it. Hopefully it was the right decision. I figured the vanquish has windows in the price which I hadn't thought of so a 100 dollar difference is close enough to justify buying one.

Not too keen on the thought of having to send my system off in the future if it has problems but hopefully I won't need to.

Think about it this way...you have the option now. Whereas, if you built it yourself, there would be no option. They use commodity components for everything in the Vanquish. Only the Bolt, Velox, and Aventum have bespoke chassis'.

I know my way around computers quite well, but with the Bolt II I just got, they were able to help me with a boot prioritization issue I had, where the problem was rooted in a buried sub-menu. I hadn't used UEFI before and this was unfamiliar territory they were able to help me out with.

The funny thing about the Vanquish is that we never hear of most of them. You have to know that the average computer buyer is just going to pop on, order, get it and blend back into the fabric of society. Nary a problem or discussion necessary... no complaints on this solid machine and many happy customers.

I saw something about nvidia pick your path or what not. Do I get a game or something? I know sometimes videocards come with one.

It depends on your configuration, if you did quality, you will see the "Pick Your Path" promo as a line item on your order receipt.
