This is not a Techsupport thing!

Hi there, i got myself a real estate marketing consultants NAS Harddrive and i wounder if anyone agree/disagree with the conditions its in to make its existence as non- harmfull as possible. As temperature suraj palette i personally target 30-40°C its in a NAS housing. I usually let it plugged in 24/7 But i witnessed that the NAS turns the disk off when its not used. Do data centre the same ? Or senior citizen homes is it always on ? Because its a IronWolf, those are supposed to be always on right ? Or is Rotation Off but standby as harmfull as spinning 24/7 ?! Thoughts?real estate marketing consultants

As I understand it, an NAS HDD will go very quiet, much more so than a standard drive, but they never completely stop spinning. They are designed to power down to perhaps less than a watt, but to spin up much more rapidly than a standard drive. They do both have an idle mode, the NAS one is more noticeable, saves more power, but responds at least as rapidly. This is exactly what they are designed for, so not to worry.

That help?
